ERIC LUCAS EVENT 

A great field of 58 young players entered the Eric Lucas event co-sponsored with Golf Australia and held at Flinders Golf Club on Tuesday 2 April.  The weather overnight had looked very unkind, with record rainfall, but cleared to a good day for our juniors.

Competition for the Eric Lucas shield is restricted to players who are members of GPV district clubs, and our congratulations go to Lenny Saville of The National GC for his win this year.

Some excellent scores were recorded –

Taegan Dodds of The Metropolitan GC won the boys’ gross section with 70.

Arena Tran of Riversdale GC won the girls’ gross section with 75.

Kyle Somers of Southern GC won the boys’ nett section with 70 nett.

Joyce Zhu of Kew GC won the girls’ nett section with 67 nett.

Thomas Simon of Leongatha GC won the stableford section with 38 points.

The Flinders GC Junior Championship is also held concurrently with the Eric Lucas event, and this year was won by Jack Vickers with 79.
