Golf on the Mornington Peninsula has deep roots, with clubs such as Flinders (1903), Mornington (1906) and Cerberus (1907) among the earliest established in Victoria. Through the early and mid‑20th century, additional clubs emerged across the Peninsula and surrounding districts, creating one of the most diverse and vibrant golfing regions in Australia.
To support this growing community, two district bodies were formed; the Peninsula District Golf Association (PDGA) and the Mornington Peninsula District Women’s Golf (MPDWG) – each administering competitions, pennant and development programs for their member clubs. In 2015, these two organisations merged to form Golf Peninsula Vic (GPV), unifying district golf administration under a single association.
Today, GPV represents 19 member clubs and continues to promote, develop and support golf across the region through competitions, pathways and collaborative programs.
