The final of the Men’s Division 1 was held at The Dunes Golf club on April19th.

Conditions of play were excellent with a very rare wind-free day and the course was set up beautifully. (Thanks to Simon and the greens staff)

The match between Rosebud defending champions and The National was a close fought affair with very little between the teams after 9 holes. Over the back 9, Rosebud gradually snook their noses ahead and eventually ran out 6-1 winners. As mentioned by winning Manager David Flood afterwards, the 6-1 scoreline was probably not a fair representation of how close the match was.

From a GPV perspective, the attitude and approach to the day as demonstrated by both teams was exemplary.  Well done to both teams and their support staff for playing fair and in the right spirit.

It’s also worth mentioning the performance of Rosebuds Jude Farrelly who went through the season undefeated playing number 1 for Rosebud.  Great to see young talent coming through!​
