Winners Mornington Green

Quarter Finals

Thankyou so much for the 3 clubs hosting today’s matches. Warburton, Rosebud and Moonah Links. Mornington Green managed a 4/3 victory over Devilbend Red at Warburton, Mornington White managed a 5 1/2 to 1 1/2 victory over Carrington Park at Rosebud and Moonah Links Red had a very close battle with Moonah Links Blue to win the deciding match on the 18th 4/3. 

Semi Finals

The 2 semi-finals were played between Devilbend Blue and Moonah Links Red and the second between Mornington Green and Mornington White.  A sincere thanks go to Eagle Ridge for hosting the first and to Mornington for hosting the second. The first final Devilbend Blue were too strong winning 5 to 2 against Moonah Links Red and in the second Mornington Green had a 4 to 3 win over Mornington White. Lastly could I give sincere thanks to those clubs who have offered to host – Warburton, Rosebud, Moonah Links, Eagle Ridge, Mornington and Devilbend. Unfortunately without clubs prepared to host the competition simply cannot happen and I am aware that it is an imposition on a club but I believe Masters is a great competition.

Final

Congratulations to the boys from Mornington Green who had a  5 / 2 win over Devilbend Blue. The result looks like a decisive victory on paper however there were a number of very close contests. A great effort also by the Devilbend team who won last year and got through to the final this year. A very sincere thanks go to Moonah Links for hosting the final and the course was in great condition. Also thanks to Tom Bruce from Moonah who started the boys off. From my perspective the year was a success so well done to all who participated.
